Re-launched an Old Blog of Mine on Blogger, The Supa Wide Web
Submitted by jason on Sat, 2011-10-08 01:51I was bored earlier and was reading an article on some of the new improvements to Google's Blogger service. I have had a blogger site up for a long time, but it is more or less a social feed of what I post to Facebook, Twitter, and every so often I do a real post. I used to have a blog that I ran a few years ago that has now officially spanned to 3 different content management systems. Originally I built the blog on Wordpress, as it was all I found related to blogging platforms and it looked pretty easy to install.
Just Launched a New Drupal Themes & CSS Templates Website, Themeroot.com
Submitted by jason on Sun, 2011-05-29 02:24I have been doing a ton of Drupal theming lately, and from what I have seen, there are just not enough free drupal themes out there. I have decided to attack this problem head-on by continuing to provide great Drupal 6 themes and Drupal 7 themes on Drupal.org and my new website, Theme Root. You might even go as far to say that some of my Drupal themes will be premium quality Drupal themes that happen to just be free. There are few great GPL CSS templates out there that aren't either already a Drupal theme or already a Wordpress theme. Our goal is to find Creative Commons Free CSS templates and create Creative Commons Drupal themes and release them on the site. Theme Root will also showcase some of the best Premium Drupal themes on the web. We have made friends with some of Drupal's top themers and plan to help promote their Premium themes whenever possible. We also hope to form more business relationships with other Premium Drupal theme shops.
Drupified is Here! Get Drupified with Drupal 7 Today!
Submitted by jason on Sun, 2011-04-10 03:47I have launched a new website today devoted to promoting the Drupal Content Mangement System, Drupified.com. This site is a similar site to my Drupalservers.net website, but the main focus on Drupified is to promote Drupal 7 and Drupal 7 projects. Drupal Servers was more based around Drupal 6 and what Drupal 6 projects had to offer. I have decided that continuing to promote Drupal means promoting the newer version that was released, and it's contributed modules and themes.
New Drupal Gardens Website, Lily Bee's Cheesecakes and Desserts
Submitted by jason on Tue, 2011-04-05 18:35In an effort to help my girlfriend get her cheesecake and dessert business started, I decided to help her get things rolling by helping her make a Drupal Gardens account and setting up a new site, Lily Bee's Cheesecakes and Desserts. The site is no where near completion yet, as we just made it about 1 hour ago, but it is already much better looking than some of the other bakery sites we were compairing online. So far we were able to choose a default theme she liked, which actually goes well with her business cards she already had printed. We also added some basic information about what Lily Bee's is all about. In the coming weeks we will be adding pictures and start adding some desserts. Until then, head on over to the site and join the mailing list if you are interested in getting some tasty desserts when they are ready to be shipped :)
More Than a Handful of Drupal 7 Themes Available Now
Submitted by jason on Tue, 2010-11-23 02:39I have been cataloging Drupal themes over at my site, Drupalservers.net, for a long time now and I have started to notice an awesome trend. There are more and more Drupal 7 themes becoming available each week. This is probably due to the fact that Drupal 7 has finally hit beta. I look forward to seeing what themers in Drupal 7 bring to the table. I personally am going to get started on a few custom themes I have been thinking about doing for a little while now. I currently have 3 Drupal 6 themes available on Drupal.org. If you haven't already, please check them out and let me know what you think. Here are their project pages:
Drupal Performance Upgrades Completed
Submitted by jason on Thu, 2010-08-26 22:22For quite some time I have been trying to figure out how to get the Aegir hosting system installed, and the other day I found something that has changed my Drupal life forever. It turns out that Omega8, a specialized Drupal hosting company, has put out an installation script that allows you to install their fully optimized Aegir hosting setup. I decided to spin up a Linode 512 hosting account, as Chunkhost has been over booked lately and I have yet to get my Chunk. One of my clients that I had sign up with them just got theirs, so it won't be long I guess until they are back to being able to keep up with capacity. Overall, while testing their beta 512 Chunk, it was great. I had to try this script as soon as possible though, so I gave Linode a shot.
New Drupal Project - My Vacation Deals
Submitted by jason on Mon, 2010-07-26 20:43I have created a new Drupal project website that can be found under the Motiv Drupal Projects block in my right sidebar. On this new project site I am focusing on Drupal SEO techniques and using arguments in views. I also plan on leveraging the context module whenever possible, as I feel it will be an easier to manage system than the default Drupal block system. I will most likely be using Panels as well and passing arguments into the panels to display content dynamically on my pages. The idea of the site is to provide useful information on popular types of vacations and popular vacation destinations around the world. Along with this useful information, the site will also provide up to date vacation deals to these destinations. My new Drupal website is called My Vacation Deals.
Motiv Designs is Now Doing Drupal Development as Arbor Web Development
Submitted by jason on Sun, 2010-07-11 14:28I have been doing Drupal on the side for a while, but within the last year I have gotten really serious about it. I ended up quitting my full-time job doing search engine optimization in the e-commerce and automotive industries to specifically do Drupal development and Drupal consulting in October of 2009. Since then I have created several sites for clients and have been involved on several other contract projects in conjunction with other companies.
Motiv Designs is Now a More Web Accessible Drupal Website
Submitted by jason on Thu, 2010-06-17 23:17I did a website project for a client recently, using the Concrete5 CMS. The site was for the Ontario Blind Sports Association, so website accessibility was a major concern. After starting the project it became evident that perhaps Concrete5 was not the most accessible CMS, but I adapted some custom code into the site in order to get what the client needed. It wasn't perfect, but there was nothing that the Concrete5 CMS offered in it's addons to achieve a text resize function for those with vision impairments.
Just Launched a Couple News Portals with Managing News and Tattler
Submitted by jason on Mon, 2010-03-22 14:34I have been toying around with the Managing News and Tattler flavors of Drupal for a while, and recently decided to launch a couple websites to really test them out. I build the first website specifically for Drupal News and follows all the top Drupal news sources for the lastest content with Managing News. The other site I built was a site following all the latest Drupal Buzz from any source that is covering the Drupal keywords I entered using the Tattler app.
Finally Updated to Drupal 6
Submitted by jason on Sat, 2009-12-19 23:02It has been a long time coming, mainly because I run several Drupal sites under one multi-site, and had to update the main install first, but I have finally updated the site to Drupal 6. Drupal 5 is basically out of date at this point, as community development on Drupal 7 is already in the works. There are some basic enhancements that have been made to Drupal 6 that make it a much better CMS, right out of the box so to speak.
Doing Some Site Reorganizing
Submitted by jason on Sun, 2009-08-02 03:37In an effort to reorganize our website better, we are creating some new category pages throughout the site. We have also added some new features that we hope you will enjoy, including a free software library. We have outlined the other category changes after the jump.
Latest Web Design Project
Submitted by jason on Sun, 2008-11-09 01:23Recently we were got a website consulting gig to help redesign a Zen Cart store and optimize the website for search engines. It turns out that Zen Cart is not as difficult as we expected it to be. It is just like any other CMS really. There are some install files, some templates, and it also has a bunch of plugins available as well. The project did not start and end how we had planned, but it ended up being a great learning experience for both my Drupal development and future Zen Cart development projects.
Missing Images Updated
Submitted by jason on Mon, 2008-03-17 21:54It seems that I renamed one of my contact images and forgot to upload the new image to my server. You should see the new images in your fractal Myspace layouts now :) I am going to be working on some new layouts soon, so there will be some fresh new fractals for your profile coming very shortly!
